Off to AQS in Lancaster! March 24 – 27

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Finished blocking these two quilts and have sent them off to the AQS show in Lancaster, Pa. If you make it to the show, maybe you’ll remember that you saw them there if you know they’re going to be there in the first place! I will not be able to attend the show as we will be right smack-dab in the middle of moving from one house to another that weekend. Say hello to my quilts if you get a chance.

You can see them full size in my gallery – How Many Ways Can A Goose Fly and All That Glitters is Not Gold

Machine Quilting Class at Bear’s Paw

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

These ladies worked hard – quilted hard and were pretty exhausted by the end of the day but I think they really got something out of the class.  Judging from their samplers, I think we had a Picasso or two in the class!

Katie’s Diamond Star – Boy! She’s fast!

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Katie started this quilt in the Diamond Star Class just one week ago – she’s finished it and already started on a second one!!! I absolutely love the blues! Its beautiful!

Machine Trapunto at Sew n Save

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

These ladies moved quickly on Sunday – cruising through all the steps of trapunto and barely stopping for a chocolate break! And they were very successful despite the fact I stapled their instructions together out of order!!

Diamond Star Class at Seminole Sampler

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

This group of ladies really knew their stuff and cruised through the class. The color selections were fantastic! It was a great way to spend a Saturday.

Happy kats!

Friday, February 5th, 2010

This is Deborah’s rendition of PhatKats! She took the class at Sew n Save a few months ago – Now its done and at the quilters! She even took the time to piece the back with the extra fabric. I think the cats are wide and crazy! What fun!

Trying to get into the quilting process?

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Turned around today and found the dog bonding with my fabric. Don’t really know what to make of it – does she want to enjoy the same things I enjoy? Does she just want attention?

Or is it just a comfy pillow right-smack-dab in the center of all the activity?

I shooed her off once and a couple of hours later, she was back. The second time I learned to pick up my fabric!

Latest Class at Bear’s Paw, Towson

Monday, January 25th, 2010

We were learning all about machine applique – lots of details to get it just right – love the colors!

playing with new kaleidoscope software!

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Got to get better subject matter – but the software is really cool. I’m wondering if i couldn’t do a whole “self-portrait” quilting with this stuff!

Been very busy all week!

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

I don’t know what’s come over me – getting up by 5: 30 all week –  I’ve seen the sunrise 4 times this week! And I’ve been very productive. Attached are some photo of a few class samples I finished.  All of these are samples for my upcoming classes at Bear’s Paw in Towson.

Machine Trapunto…

I am especially pleased with the 4 more pocket purses I completed!

Also finished and bound that very purple machine quilting sample. The thread is lime green and its actually much more purple than this photo shows! A narrow green flange highlights the binding – just to set it off a bit.

Next week – I think I’ll work on sleeping a little more – at least til after 7 – wish me luck!
