I decided to participate in the LadyBugs Quilt Guild’s block exchange last month – the premise being you paid 25 cents for a square of fabric that must be used in a 12-1/2 inch block. Then you bring the block to the meeting, toss it in the kitty with all the other blocks and the kitty gets raffled off. Maybe you get 12 blocks and maybe you get nothing. The guild meeting and drawing for blocks is tonight. Although I don’t win raffles 99.9% of the time, I’m crossing my fingers for the 12 blocks!!
Here sits the last binding….
August 5th, 2010Yes, it is sitting there in prime position – right in my spot on the couch – just waiting for me to turn on HBO and get stitching. I think I have hand sewn down the binding on at least 10 quilts in the last 30 days. Granted some are bigger and some are smaller… After this one is finished, it needs a sleeve too!! And its on a deadline – egad!!! After my summer of binding is over, I will take pictures, really good pictures, and load them all up in my gallery…eventually….
Bears Paw Quilting Class
July 31st, 2010Busy ladies, working hard. We had a great time! And at least half of us fell in love with a line a fabric that Bear’s Paw is now carrying – Flowers of the Sun (J. Windsor, South Sea Imports) Below is what I couldn’t resist. I can’t speak for the rest of the ladies!

July 29th, 2010Lots of quilting going on at The Little Country Shoppe in Middletown, Delaware
and Chicks -n- Stitches in Dover, Delaware. this week.
Very talented ladies in these pictures!I think just about everyone found a favorite free-motion design by the end of the day.
More to come because Friday we’ll be doing the same at Bear’s Paw.
Cool Website
July 26th, 2010As I roll into a week of lots of machine quilting classes in a row, I am happy to have discovered this wonderful website! Leah Day demonstrates several HUNDRED free motion quilting designs right on her website! Many are quite creative. She has challenged herself to come up with 365 designs. Please check out her site. Her video tutorials are wonderful! Her quilting is superb! And yes, its all done on a domestic machine!
Airing the Quilts
July 23rd, 2010This new old house of ours is a little stuffy and my quilts tend to smell like it. I probably smell like it too… I’ve got a class to teach tomorrow so I thought I’d hang some quilts I was taking as samples out to freshen up – hope they smell fresh and clean tomorrow!!! If it works, maybe I’ll try it on me!
This is a far as I got!
July 21st, 2010Took George Siciliano’s how-to class for miniature quilts. His work is fantastic. I don’t think its going to be for me.
